Abstract
Fluoroscopic examination of over 900 flying wild ducks during the winter and spring of 1941 and 1942 showed about 1/4 of them to be carrying lead shot in their bodies outside of the intestinal tract. Only about 1% were carrying gizzard lead. The authors believe that the surprisingly high number of shot wounds gives a new concept of gun pressure on wild ducks and may provide a new method of estimating gun pressure on wild duck populations. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
