Abstract
Our knowledge of the structure of the cuts in the complex angular momentum plane requires that the Glauber form for the shadow term in deuteron scattering be invalid at infinite energy. An estimate is made of the maximum energy at which it might be expected to be valid. As a result of the deuteron being very lightly bound, the energy is found to be high, though only a very rough estimate is possible. Keywords
