Abstract
Hemolytic anemia occurs frequently in disseminated lupus erythematosus and occasionally in polyarteritis. Previous cases in association with scleroderma have not been reported. A case of immuno-hemolytic anemia secondary to scleroderma is reported which responded dramatically to cortisone therapy. Detailed autoantibody studies are included. Warm agglutinins gradually diminished as the degree of hemolysis decreased. Cold agglutinin titer, however, appeared related to cortisone dosage father than to the severity of the hemolytic process, cold autoantibody titers increasing as the improved clinical picture permitted a decrease in cortisone dosage. Keywords
