Abstract
The Colletotrichum which attacks tomato fruits (C. phomoides) is not the same as the Vermicularia- like forms on the stems of potato and tomato. The Colletotrichums on other host families are not the same, and C. maculans does not occur on the Solanaceae. Two species occur on solanaceous stems, C. dematium with curved spores and C. atramentarium with straight spores.
