Shielding effect of aluminium on sulphur dioxide deactivation of vanadium oxide on titania-alumina DeNOx catalysts

Abstract
Vanadium oxide supported on a TiO2–Al2O3 mixed oxide prepared by gel-supported precipitation shows enhanced properties of resistance to deactivation by SO2 during the selective removal of NOX with ammonia in flue gases owing to the transfer of sulphate groups to Al sites.
