Abstract
Eggs of the potato leaf hopper, Empoasca fabae (Harris), were selectively distributed on plants of Solanum tuberosum growth habit and foliage type. Single terminal leaflets consistently received more eggs than subterminal leaflet pairs. Apical leaves of primary stems, apical leaves of axillary branches, and basal leaves of each, received fewer eggs than leaves situated between these extremities. Selection of oviposition site on a suitable plant may be dependent upon leaf characteristics which change with the physiological age of the leaves. Keywords
