Abstract
A Tris-HCl solution of the heptane antibiotic, amphotericin B, gives a circular dichroism (CD) exhibiting a dissymetric couplet. The absorption is affected by a blue shift of the maxima. The addition of erythrocyte membranes reduces the couplet and increases the small negative peaks to positive values at 422 and 399 nm. Such transformations are more important than those obtained with cholesterol. These striking modifications of the CD spectra are correlated with conformational changes of the aggregative form of the antibiotic. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
