Crystal Structure of Tetrabutylammonium μ-Oxalato-bis(oxodiperoxotungstate)(2-), [(n-C4H9)4N]2[WO(O2)2(C2O4)WO(O2)2]

Abstract
A structure of a novel complex anion [WO(O2)2(C2O4)WO(O2)2]2− which was obtained from the reaction of H2O2 with WC was determined by an X-ray diffraction method. The final R-value was 0.084. This is the first example of the anion containing both C2O4 and O2 groups isolated from this reaction. In this anion one C2O42− coordinates to two W atoms forming two chelate rings, and this type of coordination is no precedent for tungsten compounds.
