Abstract
Computation of several thermodynamic quantities has been carried out for a gaseous mixture of solar photospheric chemical composition containing hydrogen in five states— $$\text H_2^+$$ , H 2 , H, H − , and H + —helium and sixteen other elements in multiple ionization states and with radiation effects included. The discrepancy on various thermodynamic quantities of the neglect of $$\text H_2^+$$ and H − , of metals and of radiation pressure has been estimated.
