Abstract
Is it important to look for bacteriuria during pregnancy? After all, many women are asymptomatic, and in some, bacteriuria clears after delivery. Yet the answer is Yes. Why? Significant numbers of these women may have renal involvement with impaired function, and in others acute and persistent infections can develop. Appropriate antimicrobial therapy may reduce some of these risks. Keywords
