Abstract
In addition to the glossy-seedling factors located in the linkage group Bn-sl-gl1-ra, 2 new glossy seedling factors have been discovered. The 3 glossies are designated as gl 1, gl 2 and gl 3. Intercrosses of gl1, gl2 and gl3 give normal seedlings in F1 and a ratio of 9 normal to 7 glossy in F2 Gl 2 appears independent in inheritance of the aleurone factor pairs Cc, Rr and Aa, and of the endosperm factors Wx wx, Sh sh, Su su and Yy Gl 2 is linked with the factor pair for flinty vs. floury endosperm with a recombination % of about 30. Flinty-floury was found to be independent in inheritance of the factor pairs Yy, Gl 1 gl 1, Sl sl, Gg and Ra ra, whose map position is known. The flinty-floury factor pair gave independent inheritance also with factor pairs for Minn. No. 13 virescent seedling vs. normal, sorghum tassel vs. normal and brown midrib vs. normal, which have been studied extensively with known linkage groups without finding a close linkage relation. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
