Abstract
A mathematical model is described for an ideal sustained release dosage form in which there is a constant rate of release of drug from the maintenance dose. Kinetic equations related to this model are derived. The implications of these equations in the calculation of the dosage regimen for a sustained release product are considered. Keywords
