Abstract
Negative ion formation in ozone was studied in a mass spectrometer. Negative ions of O, O2, and O3 were observed. The appearance potentials of O— and O2— are O ev and 0.42±0.03 ev, respectively. The data on O— formation yield D(O2—O)≤1.02±0.15 ev and the data on O2— formation lead to a limiting value for the electron affinity of O2 of EA (O2) ≥0.58 ev.Keywords
