Abstract
A formula is developed for fast computing focal shift in the diffraction field of a Gaussian beam that is focused by a thin lens filled in a circular aperture of any prescribed radius. This formula is a generalization of two previously known focal shift formulae, one for un-apertured Gaussian beam, another for plane-wave beam. Keywords
