Abstract
A series of complexes crystallizing in a columnar structure were prepared. They have the stoichiometry Ir(CO)2ClL and Ir(CO)2L-L, where L = monodendate neutral organic base and L-L = mononegative bidendate organic ligand. UV-VIS-spectra and conductivity measurements at variable temperatures show that with increasing size of the ligand system, the intermolecular metal interactions strongly diminish. Therefore these systems are inconvenient as possible exciton superconductors.
