A simple manoeuver to prevent loss of sections for performic acid–Victoria blue technique and a comparison of various neurosecretory stains

Abstract
It is shown that whole brains of migratory locusts can be oxidized with performic acid and that paraffin sections of these can be successfully stained with Victoria blue. Either performic acid or acid permanganate oxidants can be used for Victoria blue and aldehyde fuchsin staining techniques thus allowing crisscross comparisons.
