Abstract
Passive mode locking of dye lasers is studied with the inclusion of the relaxation times. An equation derived for the integrated gain coefficient is used to explain the shortening mechanism in the long pulse stage in which gain saturation is shown to have an emphasized role in the compression of the trailing edge. This publication has 5 references indexed in Scilit:
