Balloon catheter dilatation of oesophageal strictures in children

Abstract
Although the use of balloon catheters to dilate oesophageal strictures has been well described in adults (London et al, 1981; Merrell & McCray, 1982; Götberg et al, 1982; Owman & Lunderquist, 1982; Ring & McLean, 1981) its role in children has yet to be evaluated (Pérez-Candela et al, 1983). The technique of balloon dilatation of oesophageal strictures in children as performed on four patients is described.
