Abstract
The value of reporting patient-derived outcomes using disease-specific questionnaires has been appreciated for many years.1 Validated head and neck–specific cancer health-related quality of life (QOL) questionnaires have emerged.2-5 One of the first published was the University of Washington Quality of Life Questionnaire (UW-QOL) in 1993.6 It is a commonly used measure.4,7,8 This, in part, is due to its brevity and simplicity of scoring, both of which make it an easy measure in a busy clinical setting. Keywords
