Planewise summation of point multipole-multipole interactions

Abstract
The interaction of a plane of static multipoles with another located outside the plane is shown to decrease exponentially with perpendicular separation. The retarded interaction is resolved into a short range static interaction and a long range oscillating interaction due to the radiation field of the plane.Keywords
