Abstract
Two field trials were carried out at Moor Plantation, Ibadan, Nigeria, to evaluate the effectiveness of phosphamidon, dieldrin, and carbaryl on cowpea. Vigna unguiculata, against the pod borer Maruca testulalis (Geyer). The insecticides were applied at 2 rates (0.5 and 1 lb actual per acre) in 3 applications at weekly intervals, beginning 4, 5, or 6 weeks after plant germination. Dieldrin sprays were effective against the pest and increased yield significantly. Phosphamidon and carbaryl were not effective. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
