Abstract
Vitamin A-deficiency destroys the possibility of experimenting with white rats for longer than 15 days due to the development of xerophthalmia. Vitamin B-deficiency produces a slowing down of activity and an absence of response to the food incentive. Both A- and B-deficiencies result in a pronounced anorexia, in consequence of which food is a poor incentive for learning.
