Laboratory Studies on the Toxicity of Insecticides to Larvae of the Colorado Potato Beetle1

Abstract
Field tests of insecticides for control of larvae of Colorado potato beetle, Leptinotarsa decemlineata (Say), in southwestern Ontario are not always successful because of the sporadic nature of infestations. In Virginia, foliage sprays of azinphos-methyl, carbaryl, and endosulfan gave good control of Colorado potato beetle larvae, but they were resistant to DDT (Hofmaster et al. 1967). Laboratory toxicological tests were conducted to determine comparative potencies of some insecticides to larvae.
