Abstract
Incommensurate crystal phases, appearing sometimes as intermediate phase in a ferroelectric transition do not have a 3-dimensional space group as symmetry group, but a higher-dimensional superspace group. The basic properties of this symmetry are discussed and the superspace groups are determined for a number of specific examples. Keywords
