Abstract
A new evaluation of the dispersion relations for mesonic phenomena is proposed. The method, which utilizes the comparison function procedure, makes explicit use of crossing symmetry and allows for an exact treatment of nuclear recoils. For the case of meson-nucleon scattering at low energies, an expansion of a first order solution is made in inverse powers of the nucleon mass and agreement with the results of a previous evaluation is obtained. The extension of the method to other processes is briefly discussed. Keywords
