Improved temperature measurements have been made using thin thermocouple wire welded separately to the platinum ribbon of a high temperature x-ray diffractometer attachment. The tempera ure profile of the specimen stage has been determined in atmosphere as function of temperature, heater position, and heater geometry. Keywords
