Abstract
The two methyl groups of dimethyl aryl phosphorothionates, such as bromophos, appear to be simultaneously split off by mild alkaline hydrolysis and by the action of a glutathione-dependent liver enzyme. A procedure for preparation of the reaction product, 4-bromo-2,5-dichlorophenyl phosphorothionic acid, is given. Keywords
