Abstract
This paper describes an acoustic phase measurement by which a phase shift by a fraction of a degree can be detected. This method enables us to measure stress in a fatique-cracked double-cantilever steel sample in the region around the crack. The results give an indication of the size of the plastic region in the neighborhood of the crack. This publication has 2 references indexed in Scilit:
