Relaxation currents and electret effect in polar materials

Abstract
A new model of electret effect in polar materials is suggested, that explains the long time of electrification maintenance. The model is based on the idea of electric current jr, that accompanies long-range relaxation processes in dielectrics. Unlike the previous models the current jr and medium polarization P in this case are independent values, jr, ≠ P¯. Macroscopic models of relaxation currents in ferroelectrics are considered.
