Abstract
Wavelength and temperature variations of the index of refraction of gadolinium molybdate have been studied in the spectral range 0.4–1.15 μm for temperatures from 80 to 700 K. The wavelength dependence has been found to fit well in one-oscillator formula. A marked influence of a ferroelectric-ferroelastic ordering on the dispersion parameters has been observed below Curie temperature. The contribution of the order parameter to the index of refraction below Curie temperature has been also established. Keywords
