Abstract
Compound formation is found in the systems Na/K (Na2K), Na/Cs (Na2Cs) and K/Cs (K2Cs, K7Cs6). Due to modified GUiNIER-photographs Na2Cs crystallizes with the hexagonal LAVES-type structure (a0 = 7.861 ± 0.001, c0 = 13.062 ± 0.002 Å at —50°C). The structure is discussed in terms of VEC- and geometrical arguments.
