Abstract
Administraion of vitamin A, either in its aqueous or oily form, can inhibit circulating hemolytic complement in mice. Concomitant administration of a tolerance-inducing dose of antigen fails to produce unresponsiveness and the mice become immune. The possible participation of complement in tolerance production is further suggested by these findings. Keywords
