Abstract
We report the first numerical results (with realistic parameter values) for the time evolution of a scattered Landau function in a model system recently proposed by one of the authors. They give a striking illustration for the Hall velocity increase beyond the classical value of the conduction electrons in the quantum Hall regime. This phenomenon, which is crucial for the integer quantum Hall effect, is caused by a special kind of nonclassical particle dynamics induced by disorder and cannot be described by linear response theory
