Abstract
1. Rice bran was included in diets offered to caged layers at 0, 300 and 600 g/kg in lieu of wheat and soyabean meal. 2. Inclusion of 600 g/kg non‐autoclaved rice bran led to an adverse effect on egg production, shell thickness and yolk colour. 3. Autoclaving the rice bran (120 °G for 20 min) prior to mixing of diets overcame these deleterious effects. Keywords
