Abstract
The effect of Prostaglandin E1, E2, E3, F1[alpha] and F2[alpha] on the spontaneous motility of the isolated non-pregnant human myometrium has been tested and compared with that of the partially purified prostaglandin from human seminal fluid (HSF-PG). The PGE''s caused the same inhibition of the motility as HSF-PG, the threshold dose being in the order of 0.01 [mu]g/ml bath fluid. The PGF''s were almost inactive. The consequences of these differences for the bioassay of prostaglandin activity are discussed. Keywords
