Abstract
A procedure is described for the isolation of flagella of Crithidia fasciculata, Herpetomonas samuelpessoai and Leishmania tarentolae in a highly purified state and giving reasonably good yield. The 3 types of flagella give a similar electrophoretic pattern of proteins. H. samuelpessoai and to a lesser extent, C. fasciculata flagella confer protection [in mice] against Trypanosoma cruzi infection. Keywords
