Abstract
Legendre polynomial coefficients are derived and compared with the results of other authors for the angular distributions encountered in gamma reactions initiated by the capture of vector or tensor polarized or unpolarized particles of arbitrary spin. Attention is given to phase conventions and the consequences of using different angular momentum coupling schemes. Results are given for both the channel spin and the total- representations. Correction factors for use with other author's results are included. Some potentially useful sum rules are deduced and illustrated.
