Abstract
Recently, lasers are being increasingly applied in die treatment of cancers of various organs, including the esophagus. In the present multiinstitu-tional series, two lesions in two cases were successfully treated with die high-energy Nd-YAG laser and 15 lesions in 14 cases were treated with the low-energy argon dye laser following photosensitization with hemato-porphyrin derivative. Although satisfactory results were obtained in most cases, it was concluded that the equipment and photosensitizer require improvements. Keywords
