Abstract
The ritual cycle of the Andean village people [Peru] is linked to the guinea pig production cycle. Guinea pigs are an important source of protein in Andean communities and are consumed primarily on important festive occasions. The festivals often take place when there is a protein deficiency in the population. The ritual involving the guinea pigs relating to disease also support this theory. This publication has 2 references indexed in Scilit:
