Abstract
Three cases are presented where psychotherapy patients were apparently so threatened by the possibility of undergoing hypnosis that, in order to prevent this possibility, they surrendered some of their neurotic symptoms and resistances to therapy, and started to make excellent therapeutic progress. Implications of this phenomenon for psychotherapeutic success may be far-reaching.Keywords
