Resonant modes and laser spectrum of microdisk lasers

Abstract
A theory for quantitative analysis of microdisk laser emission spectra is presented. Conformal mapping is used to determine the radial and azimuthal eigenvalues and eigenvectors corresponding to leaky optical modes in the disk. The results are compared with experimental data obtained from a 0.8 μm radius InGaAs/InGaAsP quantum well microdisk laser.
