Abstract
Lower-bound limit pressures are presented for the case of a flush radial cylindrical nozzle in a cylindrical vessel under internal pressure. A comprehensive range of parameters has been covered and these lower-bound pressures are compared, where possible, with theoretical values by other authors, and also with a number of experimental results. It is shown that, because of uncertainty and ambiguity in interpreting the experimental data and an inadequate number of good upper-bound results, there is still a need for further work to be done on this problem.
