Hyperpolarizabilities of conjugated polymers

Abstract
The hyperpolarizabilities of conjugated polymers are studied within a tight-binding model. Exact evaluation of (3ω) is carried out numerically for polymer chains of varying lengths, cis-polyacetylene and polythiophene. Effects of solitons on are considered.
