Abstract
Feeding of ronnel mineral block to cattle for a 75-day period beginning in late Aug. resulted in 100% control of the northern cattle grub, Hypoderma bovis (L.), and the common cattle grub, H. lineatum (de Villers). Cattle having access to a backrubber treated with Ciodrin (alpha-methylbenzyl 3-hydroxycrotonate dimethyl phosphate) (considered a nonsystemic insecticide) averaged 20.5 grubs per head. No significant difference in weight gain was found between the 2 treatments during an 84-day pasture trial and a 103-day dry-lot trial. Keywords
