Bei drei Patienten kam es nach prothetischem Herzklappenersatz zur Pilzendokarditis (Aspergillus und Torulopsis glabrata). Als klinischdiagnostische Besonderheit entwickelte sich im Laufe von Tagen bis Wochen in allen Fällen eine progrediente Klappenstenose infolge von Pilzvegetationen. Konservative Therapie der Aspergillus- und Torulopsis-glabrata-Endokarditis mit Clotrimazol (Bay b 5097) blieb erfolglos. Die Patienten starben an Herz-Kreislauf-Versagen. Endocarditis (Aspergillus and Torulopsis glabrata) occurred in three patients after implantation of a valve prosthesis. In all three there was progressive stenosis of the valve as a result of the growth of vegetations. Administration of clotrimazole (Bay b 5097) failed to bring improvement: the patients died of cardio-circulatory failure.
