Abstract
F* centre bleaching in SrCl2:Na+ at LNT shows that the centres haveC3v symmetry. In the excited state, the probabilities of annihilation of an F* centre by a positive hole centre and of F* electron trapping by a vacancy associated with an alkaline centre are equal. In the case of F* centres in SrCl2:Rb+, F* centre bleaching leads to the formation of associations which can be attributed to perturbed F2 centres. By bleaching, these associations can be dissociated into F* centres or transformed into another types of association according to the wavelength of the bleaching light. Keywords
