Abstract
A multiple schedule baseline method for obtaining gradients of stimulus generalization in individual Ss is described. The procedure is illustrated with brightness generalization in a rat as a function of level of deprivation and body weight. Gradients are shown to be lower toward the end of the test sessions, although over-all response rate remains relatively constant. With appropriate adjustments, the procedure should be applicable with a wide variety of Ss and stimulus dimensions.
