Abstract
The lesions consist essentially of dilatation of blood vessels, edema, perivascular hemorrhages, degeneration and death of ganglion cells, focal d emyelinization and foci of necrosis. Each of these is either directly or indirectly caused by diminution of the supply of O2 to the brain.Keywords
