Abstract
The identification of polyol base compounds of polyurethane polyethers has been carried out by gas chromatography after conversion into their corresponding acetates. The polyethers are allowed to react with the mixed anhydride of acetic and toluene-p-sulphonic acids (a cleavage reagent), and converted into the acetates. With gas chromatography the acetate peaks of the polyol base compounds appear at different positions, thus enabling these compounds to be easily distinguished. Keywords
