Abstract
Presentation of Case First admission. A forty-five-year-old tattoo artist was seen in the clinic because of swelling of the left hand.One year previously he had fallen and sustained a contusion of the left hand, which was treated with immobilization at another hospital. Twenty years before admission he was informed that he had a heart murmur, but he had subsequently worked as a ranch hand and competed in rodeos without symptoms.
